Plan work in La Jolla

Start with the problem

Make the repair
make sense.

Planning concrete work at a La Jolla property? Show where people walk, where water collects and how materials can reach the area. Each can change the scope.

Recognize the problem?

Common concrete
repair examples.

Typical situations, not a diagnosis or a fixed scope. Start with what you can see. Expand an example to understand the next step.

Example 01

Cracked or uneven walkway section

A private walkway panel is cracked, displaced, spalled, or holding water during normal property use.

What we would check

The repair approach

Review the affected section, adjoining elevations, likely movement, drainage path, access, and repair boundaries before selecting repair or replacement.

Helpful photos

Send wide views in both directions, close views of cracks and edges, and safe photos showing where water collects after rain.

Photos cannot establish the cause of settlement, concealed utilities, base condition, or exact property and right-of-way boundaries.

Example 02

Small pad or flatwork area

A customer needs a small exterior pad or replacement area for regular property use or approved equipment.

What we would check

The repair approach

Confirm intended use, footprint, loads, drainage, access, adjoining elevations, utilities, and finish expectations before defining the assembly.

Helpful photos

Send the full area, access route, adjoining doors and walls, drainage direction, and equipment information when applicable.

The intended use and site conditions determine the scope; photos do not confirm soil, underground utilities, structural design, or permit requirements.

Example 03

Damaged driveway section

A private driveway area is cracked, settled, broken, or deteriorated near a garage, apron, drain, or property edge.

What we would check

The repair approach

Map private and public limits, vehicle use, drainage, adjoining slabs, utilities, access, and replacement boundaries before pricing the work.

Helpful photos

Send views from the street and garage, close damage photos, drainage features, and the transition near the sidewalk or apron.

Driveway approaches, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other public-right-of-way work can require separate City review, plans, permits, and traffic control.

Your area. Your property.

La Jolla deserves
a property-specific plan.

The City describes La Jolla as a primarily residential coastal community defined by ocean bluffs, beaches, steep canyons and hillsides rising toward Mount Soledad. The Village is associated with Prospect Street, Girard Avenue and Torrey Pines Road, while the Shores is a distinct planning area. Those features can affect access and approvals, but they do not establish damage at any property. All World Construction develops site-specific scopes with clear investigation, protection and finish restoration.

Read the local planning guide

Route materials first

Confirm slopes, stairs, parking and interior protection before demolition or delivery.

Check governing requirements

Identify coastal, planned-district, association and permit questions for the actual scope and address.

Separate cause from setting

Coastline and hillside context guides inspection but does not diagnose drywall or concrete damage.

The AWC process

Know what happens next.

From the first photos to the written scope, keep the condition, the work and the decision clear.

  1. 01

Show the concrete and its surroundings

Send the property address, wide and close photos, intended use, drainage history, access route, known utilities, prior repairs, and proximity to sidewalks, curbs, alleys, or streets.

  2. 02

    Verify limits and site conditions

We separate observed damage, private-property limits, public-right-of-way questions, base and drainage assumptions, related work, exclusions, and concealed-condition approval points.

  3. 03

    Build the approved scope

Approved work is sequenced with required permits, utility or boundary verification, access protection, demolition, concrete placement, curing, and related restoration included in the proposal.

Before you book

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Do hillside properties always have settlement problems?

No. Movement must be evaluated from the specific slab, support, drainage and site evidence.

Will replacement concrete match?

Usually not exactly; mix, finishing, curing and weathering all affect color and texture.

Do cracks always mean the whole slab needs replacement?

No. The repair choice depends on the crack pattern, displacement, use, surrounding condition, drainage, and likely movement. Photos can start the review, but concealed base or soil conditions may require field evaluation.
